Kuwait Gaffer Eyes Victory Ahead of “Difficult” Egypt Clash

Kuwait city: Kuwait's head coach H©lio Sousa believes his men are well prepared ahead of their 2025 FIFA Arab Cup campaign opener against Egypt on Tuesday, acknowledging the "difficult" challenge that awaits them.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Portuguese coach expressed confidence in achieving a "positive result" after a 2-0 playoff victory over Mauritania secured their place in the Qatar-hosted tournament. Sousa highlighted the significance of Kuwait's participation in the competition and the readiness of his team.

Sousa described the Egyptian team as being filled with "quality" and noted that it would be the sternest test yet for his players. He pointed out that African teams are typically among the top performers in the competition, emphasizing the challenge ahead.

Right winger Eid Al-Rashidi supported his coach's outlook, stating that the team has engaged in intensive training sessions focused on tactics to avoid previous pitfalls. The team aims to perform well against their formidable opponents.

Egypt's head coach, Helmy Toulan, also shared his team's readiness for the encounter. He expressed reliance on his key player, captain Amr El Solia, whose goal is to advance as far as possible in the tournament.

The 2025 FIFA Arab Cup, which takes place in Doha from December 1-18, also features the UAE and Jordan in group three alongside Kuwait and Egypt.
