Kuwait Foreign Minister Highlights Positive Outcomes of GCC-Japan Meeting

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya has announced that the recent GCC-Japan meeting underscored the unity and solidarity within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), resulting in positive outcomes that will strengthen collaborative efforts. Al-Yahya commended Japanese Foreign Minister Takashi Iwaya for his contributions to the meeting.

According to Kuwait News Agency, GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi expressed pride in the evolving Gulf-Japanese relations, which span political, energy, cultural, academic, and trade sectors. Al-Budaiwi emphasized the significance of these developments in fostering cooperation and coordination between the GCC and Japan.

Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya reiterated his country's commitment to its strategic partnership with the GCC. He highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation in various fields to play a vital role in regional and international security and stability.

In other news, local health authorities in Ramallah reported that at least 98 Palestinians were killed and 404 others injured due to continuing Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, in sports, Bahrain's U20 football team secured a 4-2 victory over Oman in the second round of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation U20 tournament, currently held in Abha, Saudi Arabia.
