Kuwait city: Kuwait's Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya has expressed his admiration for Bahrain's preparations to host the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit. In remarks made to Bahraini counterpart Dr. Abdulatif Al-Zayani, Al-Yahya acknowledged the leadership, government, and people of Bahrain for their work in organizing the summit, highlighting the deep-rooted ties among Gulf nations.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Yahya made these remarks during his participation in the 166th session of the GCC Ministerial Council, a preparatory meeting for the upcoming summit. The meeting was attended by foreign ministers and representatives from GCC member states, along with the Secretary-General of the Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi.
During the session, Al-Yahya congratulated Bahrain on assuming the presidency of the GCC Supreme Council for its 46th session, set for December 3rd. He expressed hope that Bahrain's efforts would enhance joint Gulf action and reinforce the GCC's regional and international presence.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister emphasized the spirit of brotherhood and shared destiny that characterizes the GCC, praising the cooperation and solidarity that have defined the organization since its inception. He also expressed appreciation for the contributions of the Secretary-General, Assistant Secretaries-General, and staff of the General Secretariat.
Al-Yahya highlighted the achievements of Kuwait's presidency, noting the wide range of summits, meetings, and dialogues with international partners that occurred during this period. He pointed out that these efforts have strengthened joint Gulf cooperation and solidified the Council's role as a key regional player.
Earlier, Al-Yahya presided over the 166th session of the GCC Foreign Ministers' Council in Manama, Bahrain. The meeting focused on preparations for the 46th summit-level session of the GCC Supreme Council and discussed ways to enhance joint action across various areas, as stated by the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.
