Kuwait eyes greater economic ties with Arab nations – official

Kuwait is eager to propel its economic and trade relations with Arab countries to greater levels, an official said on Sunday, emphasizing the need to hold more pan-Arab gatherings to bring that goal to fruition.

As part of these efforts, Kuwait was among the first countries in the region to launch an electronic “certificate of origin” to process exports within the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, the Kuwaiti Customs Authority’s chief of the air cargo department Mutlaq Al-Enezi said amid talks on the matter in the Egyptian capital.

Such talks are instrumental in pushing forward plans by other countries in the region to launch the aforementioned certificate, subsequently bolstering intra-Arab trade relations, he underlined.
