Kuwait city: Kuwait's equestrian team clinched the silver medal on Friday at the Asian Show Jumping Championship, which is being held in Thailand. The competition commenced two days ago and will continue until next Sunday. The Kuwaiti team was represented by riders Ali Al-Kharafi, Rayara Al-Hunadi, Fawaz Al-Rashed, and Annaz Al-Annaz.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Japan secured the gold medal, while Chinese Taipei took home the bronze. The administrative manager of Kuwait's equestrian delegation, Sufyan Buqammaz, described the achievement as historic during a phone call. He noted that it came after intense competition and praised the efforts of Kuwait's riders during their preparation, which included training camps and ensuring the full readiness of the horses.
Buqammaz emphasized that the Kuwait Equestrian Federation made significant efforts to provide an ideal working environment for the riders. This was part of a comprehensive plan and clear strategy aimed at elevating Kuwait's status in the sport. He highlighted that the silver medal is an important milestone for Kuwait's developing show-jumping program.
Buqammaz extended his gratitude to the country's political leadership for their support of Kuwaiti sports and athletes, as well as to the Public Authority for Sport for closely following the team and offering various forms of support. He mentioned that the riders are now fully focused on the upcoming Asian Masters in Tokyo 2026, with the aim of further enhancing the reputation of Kuwaiti riders in the continent.
