Jakarta: The Embassy of Kuwait in Indonesia participated in the 56th International Women's Club (WIC)'s annual Charity Bazaar, held in Jakarta. This event was under the patronage and in the presence of Indonesia's Vice President Gibran Rakabuming's wife, Selvi Ananda.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement from the Embassy of Kuwait mentioned that Ananda visited the exhibits in the Kuwaiti pavilion during her tour of the bazaar. During her visit, the Ambassador of Kuwait to Indonesia, Khaled Al-Yassin, presented her with a special commemorative gift from the Al-Sadu House.
The statement further noted that the Kuwaiti pavilion featured traditional heritage items and food products manufactured in Kuwait. Additionally, the pavilion displayed models and paintings reflecting Kuwaiti culture and environment.
This participation is part of the Embassy's broader efforts to engage with the Indonesian community and official bodies and institutions. WIC's Charity Bazaar in Indonesia is one of the oldest social activities linked with the diplomatic corps. It aims to raise funds for local humanitarian and charitable initiatives through the participation of diplomatic missions displaying heritage and cultural products.
All proceeds from this charity bazaar, which has been held annually for more than five decades, will be directed to Indonesian charities through WIC.
