Kuwait Emphasizes Technical Cooperation to Enhance Human Rights

Geneva: The Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in Geneva has reaffirmed Kuwait's strong interest in promoting technical cooperation and capacity-building in the field of human rights. Kuwait highlighted the importance of these efforts as essential tools to assist countries in fulfilling their international obligations and enhancing the ability of developing nations to contribute to justice and sustainable development amid global challenges.

According to Kuwait News Agency, this statement was delivered by Diplomatic Attache Rahf Khuraibet during discussions on the report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights concerning technical assistance and capacity-building before the UN Human Rights Council held in Geneva. Khuraibet emphasized the significance of technical assistance and capacity-building as the essence of international cooperation, advocating for these processes to remain technical and professional, free from politicization or selectivity.

Khuraibet also pointed out the progress made in integrating human rights principles into national policies and in strengthening institutional capacities. She noted the importance of addressing funding shortfalls that threaten the continuity of such programs. Furthermore, she renewed Kuwait's commitment to continuing constructive engagement with all partners to maximize the effectiveness of technical cooperation programs and further develop their mechanisms to achieve concrete and lasting results.
