Kuwait City: Kuwait has reiterated its commitment to supporting the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) comprehensive safeguards under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The nation has pledged ongoing support for the Agency's mandate, focusing on transparency and efficiency.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Ali Al-Behbahani, a diplomatic attache, made this statement during discussions on nuclear verification and the safeguards agreement with Iran. He began by offering condolences to Austria following the recent shooting in Graz and expressed Kuwait's solidarity with the Austrian people.
Al-Behbahani emphasized that the NPT ensures a balance between states' rights to peaceful nuclear energy and the obligation to adhere to international safeguards. He highlighted the importance of cooperation with the IAEA in maintaining global peace and security.
He also called on Iran to maintain constructive and transparent cooperation with the IAEA to address outstanding issues and enhance international trust.
