Kuwait city: Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan, Hamad Al-Merri, has handed over a donation of USD two million to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to aid Palestinians in need. The donation aims to provide essential support and necessities for Palestinian refugees.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Al-Merri emphasized that Kuwait's financial support is intended to enhance UNRWA's activities and programs that assist Palestinians in the region. The Kuwaiti Government remains committed to contributing to the agency's mission of supporting Palestinian refugees.
UNRWA, founded in 1949, is responsible for meeting the basic needs of approximately 5.7 million Palestinian refugees. Forty percent of these refugees reside in Jordan, while the remainder are located in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. Kuwait's donation is part of its ongoing efforts to support the agency's critical role in the region.
