Abu Dhabi: Kuwait's Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah, met with Dubai Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, during the opening of the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX) 2025 and the Naval Defense and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Sheikh Abdullah's visit followed an official invitation from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad. Sheikh Abdullah arrived in Abu Dhabi with Army Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Maj. Gen. Pilot Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and other officials from the Ministries of Defense and Interior.
The exhibitions, IDEX and NAVDEX, commenced today and will run until February 21. They feature innovations and technologies in defense and maritime security. The 17th edition of IDEX and the 8th edition of NAVDEX host leading global defense companies, decision-makers, and industry experts to showcase advanced technological solutions aimed at enhancing international peace and security.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasized that the UAE's organization of these specialized exhibitions in the defense and maritime sectors underscores its capabilities and leadership in these fields. He acknowledged the efforts made in presenting defense technologies, with participation from major global companies and industry experts.
The minister highlighted the importance of IDEX and NAVDEX as platforms for exchanging expertise and exploring technological developments in defense and security. He noted these events offer opportunities to enhance defense cooperation and adopt advanced technologies to increase the efficiency and readiness of Kuwait's armed forces.
