Kuwait Customs Foils Drugs Smuggling Attempt at Doha Port

Kuwait city: Kuwait's General Administration of Customs announced on Wednesday the seizure of a large quantity of illegal narcotics hidden inside a shipment that was arriving at Doha Port. The operation was executed by inspectors from the Northern Ports and Failaka Island, who successfully thwarted the smuggling attempt after suspecting a container arriving from a neighboring country.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the shipment was initially declared as animal feed. However, upon further inspection, authorities discovered nearly 4,550 pills suspected to be psychotropic substances, along with approximately 5,200 kilograms of marijuana concealed within the cargo.

A seizure report was promptly filed, and the confiscated items were referred to special authorities for continued legal actions. Customs has reaffirmed its commitment to combating all attempts to smuggle prohibited substances into the country.
