Kuwait Consulate in China Signs Landmark Land Acquisition Agreement in Guangzhou

Guangzhou: The Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in Guangzhou has signed an agreement on land acquisition intended for the construction of the consulate buildings.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the signing ceremony took place at the Services Office of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Guangdong Province.

The Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Guangzhou, Abdullah Al-Turki, described the signing of the executive agreement as a historic step in strengthening Kuwait's diplomatic presence in southern China. He emphasized that the agreement highlights the depth of Kuwaiti-Chinese relations and the mutual interest in developing these ties across various fields. The signing coincides with the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and China, underscoring a significant symbolic dimension that reflects the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the two nations.

Ma Wengfeng, Director of the Foreign Ministry's Service Office in Guangdong Province, stated that the agreement marks a major milestone in the bilateral cooperation between China and Kuwait. He noted that Kuwait is the first Arab country to secure a land plot for its consulate headquarters in Guangzhou, indicating its esteemed status with China. He also mentioned the advanced levels of trade exchange between Kuwait and China projected for 2025, signifying robust economic relations. Both parties expressed a desire to continue enhancing trade and mutual investments in the future.

The release further noted that the agreement is seen as a qualitative step forward, boosting Kuwait's institutional presence in Guangzhou and paving the way for enhanced cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest.
