Kuwait confirms 499 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health on Friday confirmed 499 more infections with the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), pushing the country’s overall caseload so far up to 621,965.

Some 1,205 more people recovered from the virus to bring the number of those to have already overcome the respiratory disease to 612,586 people, the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad told KUNA, adding that the recovery-to-infection ratio stands at 98.5 percent.

Two fatalities due to the virus raised the Gulf country’s death toll since the outbreak of the pandemic to 2,543 people, while there are 6,836 active cases, including 42 in ICUs and 147 in Covid-19 wards, Al-Sanad noted.

In addition, the number of swab tests conducted so far went up by 11,533 to 770,308,9, added the spokesman.
