Kuwait Condemns Israeli Occupation Actions in West Bank

Kuwait city: Kuwait has issued a strong condemnation of the recent decisions and actions taken by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank. These measures are perceived as efforts to solidify settlement expansion and assert control over occupied territories, actions which Kuwait argues are altering the historical and demographic status quo.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Monday emphasizing the necessity for the international community and the UN Security Council to oppose these measures. The ministry labeled the actions as detrimental to prospects for peace and the two-state solution. The statement also underscored how these actions violate international law, established norms, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334 of 2016. Moreover, it referenced the 2024 advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which confirmed the illegality of settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories and demanded their immediate cessation.

Kuwait reaffirmed its unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, emphasizing the establishment of an independent state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The nation called on the international community to take responsibility in stopping these violations.
