Kuwait Condemns Israeli Approval of New Settlements in Occupied Territories

Kuwait city: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation's recent approval to build new settlements in and around occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement from the ministry highlighted that this decision threatens regional security and stability. It was described as a violation of international law and United Nations resolutions. The statement pointed out that the move contravenes Security Council Resolution 2334 and the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which both highlight the illegality of such settlements and the annexation of occupied Palestinian territories.

The ministry emphasized that the settlement expansion undermines international efforts to establish a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Kuwait reiterated its call on the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities to halt these actions and to provide protection for the Palestinian people.
