Kuwait City: Kuwait is set to participate in the special winter Olympic games in Turin, Italy. The head of the Kuwaiti Olympic delegation for the intellectual special cases, Khaled Al-Nasser, emphasized the determination of Kuwaiti athletes to excel in the upcoming Turin Olympic Special Games.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Nasser mentioned that the Kuwaiti team departed to take part in the 12th edition of the Olympic winter games for special challenges’ cases. The games, hosted by the Italian city of Turin from March 8 to 15, feature competitors who have undergone extensive training in camps located in the UAE and Egypt, under the guidance of highly specialized coaches.
The Kuwaiti team is represented by athletes Mariam Dhiab, who will compete in snowboarding, and Hajar Al-Rashidi, who will participate in snow running. Executive manager of Al-Tomooh Sports Club for Intellectual Disabilities, Hoda Al-Khaldi, conveyed confidence that the Kuwaiti athletes would achieve unprecedented results at the winter
games in Turin.
Dr. Ismail Habash, a specialized emergency doctor accompanying the team, stated his participation as part of a mission on behalf of the ministry of health, reflecting the government’s concern for the various segments of special needs’ cases. The special winter tournament in Turin is scheduled to commence on March 15, featuring 1,500 competitors and 1,000 trainees from 100 countries.
