Cairo: Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajil affirmed Monday that Kuwait has played a pioneering role in supporting Egypt's development investments over the past years through development funds and joint projects, laying a solid foundation for bilateral economic relations.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Ajil made this statement while leading Kuwait's delegation to the Egyptian-Gulf Trade and Investment Forum held in Cairo. The event was jointly organized by the GCC General Secretariat and Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the theme "A roadmap toward strengthening Egyptian-Gulf economic cooperation." It reflects GCC states' commitment, led by Kuwait, to boosting economic partnership with Egypt.
He noted the forum comes amid growing economic momentum and expanding partnership prospects between both sides, emphasizing Kuwait's active contribution through developmental investments that helped build strong economic ties between the two nations.
Al-Ajil commended Egypt's efforts to reform its investment climate and develop its legislative and procedural frameworks to attract capital, describing these as part of a broader path aimed at strengthening investor confidence and improving the business environment.
He added that GCC countries, particularly Kuwait, view these reforms as crucial to enhancing regional market stability and integration, stressing that their success would positively affect future cooperation within a broader vision of strengthening Arab partnerships based on mutual interests and sustainable development.
Kuwait's delegation to the forum includes officials from the Ministries of Finance and Commerce and Industry, the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and representatives from the private sector.
