Kuwait City: The General Administration of the Coast Guards celebrated its 70th anniversary on Thursday at the Sabah Al-Ahmad Coast Guard Base, honoring the retired personnel who played a pivotal role in establishing the organization committed to safeguarding Kuwaiti waters. The event was graced by prominent retired and current officers, including Major General Mujbil bin Shawq and Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Yousef Al-Sabah.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Sheikh Mubarak in his speech highlighted the invaluable contributions of the retired leaders and underscored the importance of teamwork, rigorous training, and the use of modern technology, such as artificial intelligence, for the future development of the Coast Guard. He elaborated on the ongoing projects, such as vessel refurbishments, the installation of a new radar system, and the introduction of sea marches, all of which are expected to be completed within the next 20 months.
The celebration also featured a military display by the Coast
Guard personnel and performances by students from the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences. These performances showcased the dedication and achievements of the Coast Guard in overcoming various challenges and underscored their commitment to protecting the nation’s waters.
