Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Highlights US as Leading Investment Destination

Kuwait city: The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has affirmed that the United States remains the foremost destination for Kuwait's public and private investments.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the US has been consistently ranked among Kuwait's top three trading partners for over thirty years, with bilateral trade reaching USD 3.4 billion in 2023.

The statement was made during a meeting hosted by KCCI with a US commercial and economic delegation, which included several energy-sector companies. The delegation was led by Darryl Cheng, Commercial Counselor at the US Embassy in Kuwait. The event saw participation from representatives of government entities, Kuwaiti companies, and business owners.

KCCI emphasized that the visit plays a crucial role in strengthening economic ties between the two nations. It stated that such direct interactions help establish effective channels for cooperation, particularly given Kuwait's investment presence in the US, which spans more than sixty years. The Chamber further noted that Kuwait's extensive experience in US investments has built strong and reliable bridges of trust, fostering strategic cooperation.

The KCCI highlighted that the US remains the primary destination for Kuwaiti overseas investments, especially in the energy sector, which presents significant opportunities for enhancing economic collaboration. Darryl Cheng remarked that the meeting provides a chance to expand cooperation between the two countries. He noted the interest of US companies in forming partnerships with Kuwaiti firms, particularly in infrastructure, machinery, manufacturing, energy, oil, and gas sectors.

Presentations were also delivered by representatives from the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), the Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA), the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). These presentations outlined key ongoing projects and investment opportunities available under the "New Kuwait 2035" vision.
