KUWAIT CITY: The Cabinet held its weekly session at Bayan Palace, chaired by Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah. The meeting focused on reviewing the outcomes of the Dushanbe process conference, among other significant national and international issues. According to Kuwait News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereedah Al-Mousherji highlighted the Cabinet's appreciation for the statement made by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah during the fourth senior-level conference on combating terrorism and enhancing border security. The conference, known as the Kuwait phase of the Dushanbe process, emphasized Kuwait's commitment to global cooperation against terrorism and the importance of the UN's role in providing technical expertise to member states. The Cabinet also expressed its support for the Kuwait Declaration, which emerged from the conference, calling for improved inte rnational and regional cooperation to address border security challenges. The Declaration stressed adherence to the UN strategy for combating terrorism, the future charter, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. In addition, the Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the official visit by President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emamoli Rahmon, and evaluated the agreements signed between Kuwait and Tajikistan. The visit included discussions on various bilateral collaborations. The session also covered the fifth Gulf conference on cyber security challenges hosted by Kuwait. The conference addressed cyber strategies and global threats, underscoring the importance of regional cooperation in tackling these issues. Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the formation of a board for the Public Institution for Social Security, chaired by the Minister of Finance, and comprising representatives from several ministries and expert bodies. The Cabinet examined reports by the Audit Bureau concerning ministry budgets and financial indexes for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. They agreed to submit the findings to the government performance follow-up apparatus to ensure implementation of recommendations and prevent future issues. Finally, the Cabinet approved the minutes of the Supreme Committee to Investigate Kuwaiti Citizenship, focusing on cases of citizenship acquired through fraudulent means, based on decree-into-law 15/1959.
