Kuwait Cabinet Reviews Amir’s Ramadan Address, Pledges Reforms

Kuwait City: The Cabinet held its weekly session on Wednesday at Bayan Palace under the chairmanship of the Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah. Following the session, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheridah Al-Mousherji stated that the ministers examined the statement that had been addressed by His Highness the Amir to the citizens on Sunday, marking the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministers reviewed His Highness the Amir's speech, where he expressed hope for significant progress in reforms and development, aiming for achievements benefiting the homeland and its citizens. The cabinet highlighted key points of the Amir's address, noting the challenges posed by those attempting to sow discontent and misinformation, particularly concerning the issue of citizenship.

His Highness the Amir emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between national unity and justice and reiterated that tackling these challenges would adhere to legal and humanitarian standards. He highlighted the critical role of national unity in safeguarding the country against various challenges and reaffirmed his commitment to reform, independence, and prioritizing the nation's interests.

The Amir also addressed the need to combat corruption and assured the public of his vigilance over state operations, especially in health, education, and housing sectors. He promised to resist any threats to national security and citizens' welfare while closely overseeing legislative processes and international agreements aimed at strategic partnerships, expressing optimism for Kuwait's future economic and financial stability.

In his speech, His Highness underscored Kuwait's diplomatic approach in international relations and its firm stance against injustice. He called for national unity and responsible actions to preserve security and stability, warning against distractions and divisive elements, including harmful social media platforms.

The ministers expressed their gratitude for the guidance from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and committed to implementing his directives. They extended congratulations for the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr to the Amir, the Crown Prince, and the citizens of Kuwait.

The session also welcomed the newly appointed Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Sebeeh Abdulaziz Almukhaizeem. Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Abdullah Alajeel Alaskar briefed the Cabinet on measures pertaining to a controversial shopping festival draw, emphasizing the ministry's commitment to legal compliance and consumer protection.

The Cabinet expressed support for Minister Alaskar's legal actions and stressed the importance of enforcing the law against any wrongdoing.
