Kuwait bags 9 medals at int’l triathlon tourneys in Egypt

Kuwait’s athletes have won seven gold medals and two silver medals at Arab and African triathlon tourneys recently held in Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Sharm El-Shaikh.

Kuwait’s male and female athletes snatched eight medals – six gold and two silver – at the Arab tourney, Rashid Al-Kandari, head of Kuwait’s Triathlon Club, said in a press statement.

Athlete Jassim Al-Rujaib has bagged three medals: two gold and a silver, meanwhile compatriots Noura Al-Barrak, Fai Al-Mulla, Loulua Al-Refaei and Huda Saleh have won one gold medal each. Athlete Saleh Al-Razehan got a silver medal in the same event, Al-Kandari said. In the African Cup tourney, which allows non-African athletes’ participation, Huda Saleh won a gold medal, he added. He attributed this accomplishment to the efforts and performance of players and the club, and support provided by the Kuwait Olympic Committee and the Public Authority for Sport.
