Kuwait Assistant FM Restates Backing to Women’s Sports Empowerment

Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Duaij Al-Sabah reiterated Kuwait's commitment to supporting women's sports empowerment and presence in regional and global technical, administrative, and field aspects. She emphasized this stance following her meeting with the newly elected President of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry, who is visiting Kuwait for the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher highlighted the significance Kuwait places on women's empowerment across all sectors, including sports. This commitment aligns with the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and complies with both national laws and international agreements. The ambassador also extended congratulations to Coventry on her election as President of the International Olympic Committee, noting that her visit underscores the depth of international sports relations and Kuwait's standing in the field.
