Kuwait Assistant FM Reaffirms Bolstering of National Counterterrorism Efforts

Kuwait City: Kuwait's Assistant Foreign Minister for Development and International Cooperation, Ambassador Hamad Al-Mashaan, reaffirmed on Tuesday Kuwait's continuous efforts to improve its national counterterrorism capabilities.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Mashaan spoke to KUNA after the ministry's workshop on strengthening investigative capabilities in terrorism financing and implementing UN sanctions, held via Zoom in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at the Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute. Al-Mashaan praised Kuwait's efforts in combating terrorism financing and highlighted the country's commitment to sharing necessary information across relevant authorities to bolster national security and international peace. He further mentioned that the event featured four sessions covering the UN Security Council (UNSC) sanctions methods, challenges in finance terrorism, measures to combat the financing of weapons proliferation (FB), and prosecuting finance terrorism cases.
