Kuwait City: Kuwait Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Sheikha Jawaher Al-Sabah met with Executive Director of UN Women Sima Bahous to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two entities on the subject of human rights. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 18th Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP18).
According to Kuwait News Agency, both officials emphasized the importance of the involvement of women in various fields, particularly those with special needs. They highlighted the necessity for women to have a significant role in negotiations and the distribution of aid, recognizing their crucial contribution to building peace and stability.
Sheikha Jawaher expressed Kuwait's commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at achieving gender equality and enhancing women's rights. Sima Bahous acknowledged Kuwait's initiatives in empowering women and the supportive legislation in place.
