Kuwait City: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the visiting President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev oversaw the signing of four agreements on Monday during official rounds of talks held at Bayan Palace. These agreements mark a significant step in enhancing bilateral cooperation between Kuwait and Uzbekistan.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the signing ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah. The agreements span various sectors, reflecting the diverse interests and mutual goals of both nations.
The first agreement focused on expanding cooperation within the labor force in the private sector. This pivotal agreement was signed by Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf and Uzbek Foreign Minister Baxtiyor Saidov, aiming to bolster employment opportunities and economic collaboration.
The second agreement introduced a protocol to amend an existing agreement on air cargo cooperation. This was signed by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and his Uzbek counterpart Baxtiyor Saidov, signifying a commitment to enhancing logistical support and connectivity between the two countries.
A third agreement aimed at developing cooperation in the domain of smart cities was also signed. Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Abdullatif Al-Meshari, along with Uzbek Foreign Minister Saidov, endorsed this agreement, focusing on integrating advanced technologies and sustainable practices in urban development.
The fourth agreement centered around industrial cooperation. It was signed by Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Askar and Uzbekistan’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Laziz Kudratov, emphasizing the importance of industrial growth and innovation in strengthening economic ties.
