Kuwait and US Officials Discuss Human Rights Cooperation

Kuwait City: Kuwait Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Sheikha Jawaher Al-Sabah met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Jake McGee. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 18th Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP18).

According to Kuwait News Agency, both officials engaged in discussions about bilateral cooperation in human rights. Sheikha Jawaher highlighted Kuwait's efforts against human trafficking and reaffirmed a commitment to promoting human rights.

McGee recognized Kuwait's efforts in women empowerment, particularly the enrollment of women in military service, describing it as an achievement reflecting Kuwait's dedication to advancing women's rights. The meeting was also attended by Kuwait's permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Tareq Al-Bannai.
