Kuwait and Japan Upgrade Bilateral Relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership


Kuwait City: The State of Kuwait and Japan have agreed to elevate their bilateral relations to a “comprehensive strategic partnership,” reflecting the depth of their relationship and introducing new prospects for cooperation.



According to Kuwait News Agency, the agreement emerged from the official visit by His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, to Japan from May 28-31. During the visit, His Highness held discussions with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on ways to strengthen ties in key areas, benefiting both nations amid evolving regional and international dynamics.



The two leaders concurred that enhancing bilateral relations in political, economic, and humanitarian fields underscores both nations’ commitment to promoting security, stability, and prosperity on both regional and international levels, as noted in the statement.
