Kuwait and DCO Aim for Economic and Technological Integration

Kuwait City: Kuwaiti Minister of State for Communications Omar Al-Omar and visiting Secretary-General of Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) Deemah Al-Yahya discussed strategies to enhance cooperation and share expertise for digital integration. The discussions focused on strengthening digital inclusion and advancing the digital economy to align with Kuwait's 2035 development vision, which emphasizes the digitalization of government services and technological innovation.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Omar highlighted Kuwait's preparations for hosting the DCO's next general assembly meeting in early 2026, as it currently chairs the organization. He emphasized Kuwait's dedication to fostering regional and international partnerships in the digital economy sector and underscored the importance of the DCO as a global platform supporting digital growth and sustainable development through a knowledge and innovation-based economy.

DCO Secretary-General Deemah Al-Yahya expressed her organization's appreciation for Kuwait's leadership in digital integration within the region. She praised Kuwait's efforts in developing digital infrastructure and promoting digital inclusion. The DCO, based in Riyadh and established in November 2020, lists Kuwait as one of its co-founders.
