Kuwait and China Set to Sign Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port Contract in December

Kuwait city: The executive contract for the completion of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port is scheduled to be signed this month with a Chinese government company affiliated with China's Ministry of Transportation, according to Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan. This announcement was made on Thursday during the 38th meeting of the ministerial committee responsible for overseeing Kuwait's major projects, which includes collaborative deals with other nations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Public Works released a statement highlighting that the meeting also addressed several other key projects. These included discussions on the national power grid and advancements in renewable and green energy infrastructures. Moreover, the meeting covered areas of cooperation in recycling, housing projects, sanitation, free trade, and efforts to combat desertification.

The statement also noted Minister Al-Mashaan's assurance that contracts for significant projects will be finalized shortly, following the requisite procedures by government and auditing bodies. Ambassador Sameeh Hayat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs and Secretary of the Ministerial Committee, emphasized that the forthcoming period will see the execution of various agreements between Kuwait and other countries, including China.

Ambassador Hayat highlighted Kuwait's commitment to accelerating development efforts, as international companies continue to show interest in the country's initiatives. The ministerial meeting was attended by several high-profile officials, including Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abullatif Al-Meshari, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of Economic Affairs and Investment, Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem, Chief of the Administration of Fatwa and Legislations, Salah Al-Majed, Ambassador Hayat, and representatives from the ministries of Public Works, Defense, and Foreign Affairs.
