Kuwait Amiri Diwan Minister Hosts Luncheon for Oxford Centre Leadership

Kuwait city: Kuwaiti Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah hosted a luncheon banquet at Al-Salam Palace to honor Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, and Sultan Nazrin Shah Ibni Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah, the Vice Chairman of the Board.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the banquet was attended by several notable board members, including Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Dr. Abdullah Gul. Other attendees included Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Dr. Raja Easa Al-Gurg, Director of the Centre Dr. Farhan Nizami, and Dr. Basel Mustafa.

The event also saw the presence of Dr. Amina Rajab Farhan, Director General of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, along with several senior KFAS officials. The guests were given a tour of the Al-Salam Palace Museum, which showcases contents, documents, and photographs highlighting significant aspects of Kuwait's history, state evolution, influential figures, institutions, and national heritage.

Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah emphasized Kuwait's commitment to supporting international academic institutions and research centers, particularly the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. He stated that the investment in knowledge and enlightenment is viewed as a crucial aspect of the State's responsibility toward its present and future.

He further noted that the Al-Salam Palace Museum has emerged as a national cultural landmark, chronicling the modern state's history, evolution, and humanitarian and diplomatic role. The museum not only houses historic antiquities but also plays a vital role in preserving the general state memory and providing documented material to scholars and those interested in Kuwaiti affairs. It aims to raise societal awareness of the country's history and responsibilities.
