Kuwait City: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, along with His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah, made a notable visit to the Nabat Poets' Diwaniya on Monday evening. Upon their arrival, they were received by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and the secretary of Nabat Poets' Diwaniya, Nassar Al-Khamsan.
According to Kuwait News Agency, His Highness the Amir addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of poetry in connecting with the community. He extended greetings for the holy month of Ramadan and expressed hopes for continued blessings for Kuwait and the broader Arab and Muslim nations. His Highness highlighted the contributions of the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in establishing the Diwaniya and its historical importance.
His Highness the Amir expressed his pride in Kuwait's Nabat Poets' Diwaniya as a symbol of cultural heritage. He praised the efforts of the Diwaniya's officials in promoting national spirit and loyalty. The Amir encouraged poets to preserve their cultural identity and learn from experienced poets.
Looking ahead to 2025, when Kuwait will be named the capital of Arab culture, His Highness the Amir called for more symposiums and meetings to enhance poets' knowledge and skills. Al-Khamsan, in his speech, commended His Highness the Amir's commitment to cultural heritage and vowed to continue the Diwaniya's mission in promoting national identity through poetry.
Al-Khamsan announced plans to expand Nabat poetry across all governorates, aiming to celebrate cultural heritage on national occasions. He wished His Highness the Amir continued success and prayed for his good health. The event concluded with poets Faisal Al-Adwai and Yusuf Al-Shatti presenting poems that delighted the audience.
