Kuwait Ambassador Engages in Dialogue with KAICIID in Lisbon

Lisbon: Kuwait Ambassador to Portugal Hamad Al-Hazeem and Acting Secretary-General of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) Ambassador Antonio de Almeida-Ribeiro engaged in discussions on cooperation between Kuwait and the center.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Hazeem highlighted that the meeting, which took place at KAICIID's headquarters in Lisbon, concentrated on the center's initiatives to advance global religious tolerance and dialogue. The discussions also explored potential collaborations between Kuwaiti institutions and KAICIID to support religious, social, and humanitarian efforts.

Ambassador Ribeiro conveyed his willingness to enhance cooperation with Kuwait and the broader Arab region to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and dialogue. KAICIID, established in 2011 by Saudi Arabia, Austria, and Spain, with the Vatican as a founding observer, aims to encourage dialogue among followers of different religions and cultures to prevent conflict and build enduring peace.

Ribeiro, who took office in January, has been recognized with numerous awards from countries such as Portugal, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Italy, France, Jordan, and Peru.
