New Delhi: Kuwait Ambassador to India Meshal Al-Shemali met with Nandini Singla, the Director General of India's Council for Cultural Relations, in New Delhi to discuss enhancing cooperation in cultural and educational fields.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Shemali and Singla talked about expanding areas of cooperation, focusing on cultural and educational ties. The ambassador highlighted the historical roots of Indian-Kuwaiti relations in cultural and social fields. He emphasized the importance of official exchanges between the two countries to boost communication and explore new cultural and scientific opportunities.
Al-Shemali also stressed the need for exchanges between scholars and intellectuals from both nations, aiming to create engagement opportunities for students. He mentioned that Kuwait's Ministry of Information plans to launch a program on Kuwait Radio for Indians in April 2024, reflecting Kuwait's commitment to promoting Indian culture and arts.
Singla expressed satisfaction with the strong cultural relations between the two countries and emphasized the need for further strengthening them. The first cultural and educational cooperation agreement between the two nations was signed in 1970, and a renewed agreement for the period 2025-2029 was established during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit in December 2024.
