KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait Airways signed a strategic partnership agreement with Zain on Wednesday, designating the airline as one of the carriers for the 26th Gulf Cup, which will be hosted by Kuwait from December 21 to January 3. In a statement to KUNA, Kuwait Airways Chairman, Abdulmohsen Al-Fagaan, stated that the partnership provides Kuwait Airways the opportunity to serve as the official carrier for all attendees of the tournament, ensuring exceptional comfort during their travels. According to Kuwait News Agency, the agreement aims to enhance Kuwait Airways' regional presence as the official carrier of the 26th Gulf Cup, contributing to its economic growth. Al-Fagaan also announced the upcoming arrival of a new Airbus A330-900 aircraft on December 7, which will be ready for service a week after its arrival, following necessary preparations. Zain's CEO, Nawaf Al-Gharabally, expressed in a press statement that the collaboration underscores the role of Kuwaiti companies as key partners in shaping Kuwait's futu re, aligning with the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to prioritize Kuwait's interests. He further mentioned that Zain is proud to partner with Kuwait Airways, anticipating a successful collaboration that reflects their shared commitment to Kuwait's image. Al-Gharabally also expressed optimism for increased cooperation between the public and private sectors to elevate Kuwait's reputation internationally. Zain Kuwait's Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer, Waleed Al-Khashti, told KUNA that the partnership would have a positive impact, emphasizing the focus on ensuring the success of the 26th Gulf Cup. Al-Khashti outlined that Zain would offer various services during the tournament, such as distributing SIM cards to visitors, organizing social media contests, and providing tickets to the public at the Zain Fans Zone. He added that this collaboration with Kuwait Airways would persist throughout the tournament, featuring daily announcements of competitions, acti vities, and events in cooperation with Kuwait Airways.
