Kuwait city: Kuwait Airways announced receiving its second new Airbus A321neo, "Al-Wafra," under a nine-aircraft agreement with Airbus. Kuwait Airways Chairman Abdulmohsen Al-Faqaan stated in a press release that this delivery will expand flight capacity and benefit the national carrier, noting that the A321neo offers passengers a comfortable and engaging experience with advanced technology and a varied inflight entertainment system.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Faqaan added that all nine A321neos would be received sequentially over the coming years according to the agreed schedule, further strengthening Kuwait Airways' fleet with the latest Airbus models. The aircraft is designed to seat 166 passengers, with 16 in Business Class and 150 in Economy, featuring a distinctive interior layout.
The A321neo is equipped with a 9.5-ton cargo capacity and promises 20-percent fuel savings. It also offers a five percent reduction in airframe maintenance costs and 14-percent lower operating costs. Kuwait Airways, founded in 1953 as the private Kuwait National Airways Limited, operated its first flight on March 16, 1954. The government of Kuwait acquired full ownership in 1962.
