Kuwait city: Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi affirmed on Wednesday that the signing of a cooperation agreement between Kuwait Airways and the national platform, Visit Kuwait, marks a qualitative step to build a modern tourism industry. In his speech during the signing ceremony, Minister Al-Mutairi highlighted the commitment of national institutions to supporting the transition to a diversified economy.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Minister Al-Mutairi emphasized that this cooperation with the national carrier represents a practical model of joint institutional work, expressing national awareness of the importance of integrating media and tourism. This collaboration aims to present a progressive image of Kuwait, reflecting its regional and international standing. He described the initiative as a strategic step within an integrated national path to build a modern tourism communication system, unifying promotional efforts under one national umbrella that showcases Kuwait's cultural identity and unique capabilities.
Minister Al-Mutairi underscored the significance of tourism as an influential economic and developmental sector. In a statement to reporters following the signing, Al-Mutairi explained that since the launch of the Visit Kuwait project, various initiatives have significantly enhanced Kuwait's tourism system. By studying global models, the platform was designed to facilitate tourism development, offering a digital platform with services and information about Kuwait.
The platform features an interactive map of tourist sites, a range of events, and the digital guide Rashed, providing users with comprehensive information. Al-Mutairi stressed the role of media outlets in presenting media visions to further develop the system and platform, emphasizing the collective effort to maximize benefits and drive continuous development.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Airways, Abdulmohsen Al-Fagaan, remarked that the agreement represents a crucial step toward enhancing Kuwait's position on the regional and global tourism and cultural map. He highlighted Kuwait Airways' role as the national carrier and its commitment to supporting the nation's vision. Al-Fagaan expressed pride in being part of the Visit Kuwait platform, which helps visitors discover Kuwait's rich culture and unique experiences.
