Kuwait Affirms Condemnation of Crimes in Syria and Maintains Robust Financial Rating


Kuwait City: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the crimes committed by outlaw groups in Syria, particularly their targeting of security forces and state institutions.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Fitch Ratings has confirmed Kuwait’s Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at ‘AA-‘ with a stable outlook. This assessment reflects the country’s resilient economic and financial position.

In a separate development, under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah has issued instructions to reduce the life-sentence term to 20 years.

Additionally, the Kuwaiti Permanent Delegation to the United Nations and International Organizations headquarters in Geneva has called on the Human Rights Council to ensure the rights of Palestinian workers suffering under Israeli occupation.
