Kuwait Acknowledges Kyrgyzstan’s Approval of Human Rights Recommendations

Kuwait city: Kuwait's Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva expressed appreciation for Kyrgyzstan's endorsement of crucial recommendations, two of which were proposed by Kuwait, aimed at enhancing and safeguarding human rights.

According to Kuwait News Agency, this announcement was made during a speech by Diplomatic Attach© Zeyad Abuhaimed, a member of Kuwait's Permanent Mission, during the approval process of Kyrgyzstan's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) at the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. The Kuwaiti recommendations focused on advancing the role of women in leadership roles until 2030 and implementing policies to prevent crime from 2022 to 2028.

Abuhaimed expressed Kuwait's hope for Kyrgyzstan's success in implementing the approved recommendations. The UPR, established by a UN General Assembly resolution in March 2006, serves as a primary mechanism of the Human Rights Council, through which the human rights situations in all member states are assessed by submitting and reviewing national efforts and recommendations.
