Kuwait Accelerates Implementation of Agreements with China.


Kuwait City: His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwait has directed the relevant ministers to expedite the execution of agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) established between Kuwait and China. This directive aims to enhance the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait’s Ambassador to China, Jassim Al-Najim, emphasized that the relationship between Kuwait and China serves as a unique model of integration and cooperation. The ambassador’s comments highlight the significance of the agreements and MoUs in fostering stronger ties between the two countries.

In related diplomatic efforts, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya engaged in discussions with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to explore avenues for enhancing relations and collaboration across multiple sectors. Meanwhile, as the New Year celebrations draw near, the Kuwaiti cabinet has announced a two-day holiday for government institutions on January 1-2, 2025.

on to its diplomatic activities, Kuwait is also taking measures to progress in digital trade. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) is preparing to introduce a digital trade law, which is expected to facilitate business and economic growth in the country.

Kuwait’s contributions on the international stage are also evident as the nation calls on UN member-states to support Palestine’s quest for full membership in the United Nations. This appeal comes amidst ongoing conflict in the region, with health authorities in the Gaza Strip reporting 30 Palestinian fatalities in the past 24 hours. Similarly, the Lebanese Health Minister, Dr. Firas Abyad, reported significant casualties in Lebanon due to Israeli occupation attacks.

Furthermore, Kuwait’s commitment to humanitarian causes was acknowledged at the launch of the “Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO)” for 2025, hosted by Kuwait. UN Undersecretary for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher expressed his gratitude for Kuwait’s ro
le in the event.

The Minister of Social Affairs of Kuwait also held discussions with the international Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to support Kuwait’s initiatives against money laundering and terrorism funding. UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator Joyce Msuya commended Kuwait for its consistent support for humanitarian efforts throughout history.

The UN General Assembly, upon requests from the Arab group of states, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), resumed its 10th emergency special session to address the situation in Palestine, underscoring the ongoing regional tensions.
