Kuwait City: Kuwait University (KU) President Dr. Dina Al-Mailam affirmed Tuesday that KU is aiming to develop the younger generation's capabilities in the fields of science, technology, and space science. This initiative was highlighted during an exhibition organized by KU's College of Science, led by the Physics Department, which hosted a group of Emirati astronauts as part of the Science Projects Exhibition for middle and high school students, concluding the "Journey to Space" program.
According to Kuwait News Agency, UAE State Minister for Youth Affairs and astronaut Dr. Sultan Al-Neyadi delivered a visual presentation at the event, elucidating the significant challenges astronauts face during space missions. He was joined by fellow Emirati astronauts Mohammad Al-Mulla and Nora Al Matrooshi, along with the UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, who collectively provided insights into the space journey.
Dr. Al-Neyadi elaborated on a remarkable six-month space mission, emphasizing it as a noteworthy accomplishment for an Arab astronaut. This mission stands out as the longest period spent in space by an Arab astronaut, marking a significant milestone in the region's exploration endeavors.
The exhibition, held at Sabah Al Salem University City, saw participation from over 300 male and female students. It was a collaborative effort with the College of Education, aiming to inspire and educate the youth on the possibilities within the realm of space science and technology.
