Moscow: The Russian Presidency (Kremlin) announced that Moscow has agreed to a truce in Ukraine until early February, aiming to create conditions for negotiations with Kyiv. Spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitry Peskov, confirmed in a news briefing that US President Donald Trump had requested President Vladimir Putin to halt attacks on Ukraine for a week.
According to Kuwait News Agency, President Trump personally asked President Putin to refrain from launching strikes on Kyiv until February 1, to facilitate favorable conditions for negotiations. In response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's reported refusal to concede the Donbas region and the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Peskov noted that the Kremlin had taken note of these statements, although he remarked that the frontline situation speaks for itself.
