KRCS Explores Partnership with UNHCR to Aid Refugee Crisis

Kuwait city: Chairperson of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Ambassador Khaled Al-Maghames, met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representative in Kuwait, Nisreen Rubaian, to discuss ways to strengthen their partnership in refugee crisis initiatives.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Maghames emphasized the importance of collaborating with international and regional institutions to enhance cooperation opportunities and promote the exchange of expertise. He acknowledged the UNHCR's efforts in assisting refugees and those displaced by wars and natural disasters globally, reaffirming Kuwait's dedication to fulfilling its humanitarian and relief responsibilities.

Kuwait remains committed to meeting the demands of humanitarian and relief work, Al-Maghames added. Rubaian stated that the meeting aimed to boost coordination, contributing to better conditions for refugees worldwide. She praised Kuwait's ongoing partnership through both governmental and civil institutions.

KRCS is recognized as a key supporter of UNHCR's global efforts, including its contributions to providing essential services to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, Rubaian noted.
