Kuwait: Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has taken a significant step in its environmental efforts by organizing the planting of 1,000 mangrove seedlings at the Al-Jaraa natural reserve. This initiative took place on Saturday and was attended by key figures, including CEO Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah and Executive Manager Wadha Al-Khatib. According to Kuwait News Agency, Sheikh Nawaf emphasized the environmental benefits of mangroves, highlighting their ability to absorb carbon at a rate 4-5 times higher than other plants. He also stated that there is a growing global trend to increase mangrove plantations, aligning with KNPC's energy transformation strategy for 2050. Wadha Al-Khatib noted that this event is part of a series of environmental ventures launched by the company. She mentioned that last October, KNPC planted 1,500 mangrove seedlings in the same reserve and unveiled plans to introduce a total of 9,000 mangrove plants to the area, further demonstrating their commitment to environme ntal sustainability.
