Kuwait City: The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) announced Monday that the Kuwait National Seismic Network, affiliated with the institute, recorded an earthquake measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale northeast of Kuwait. In a press statement, the KISR said the earthquake occurred at 8:29 p.m. local time at a depth of 5 kilometers underground.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the earthquake was registered by the seismic network, which consistently monitors seismic activity in the region. The tremor was measured at a moderate depth, indicating a typical seismic event for the area. The institute reassured that such occurrences are not uncommon and are part of the natural seismic activities monitored by the network.
