Kindergartens Crucial for Child Development, Experts Say

Kuwait city: The pre-school education phase is a critical stage in a child's development, serving as the cornerstone for balanced and successful upbringing, according to specialists. Kindergartens play a pivotal role in shaping a child's personality and providing an environment where children begin to learn essential skills and values.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Fatma Al-Kandari, the general guide for kindergartens, emphasized in an interview that preschool is crucial for shaping a child's personality and enhancing their skills. She highlighted that kindergartens are not just care centers but inclusive educational environments that offer children opportunities to learn through play, experimentation, and exploration. This sound education during the preschool years prepares children for the demands of formal schooling and enhances their readiness for social interactions.

Dr. Adel Al-Zayed, a psychologist, noted that the pre-school phase is a sensitive period in a child's growth. Providing psychological and emotional support at this stage fosters a sense of security and confidence, aiding positive interactions with relatives and teachers while reducing issues such as phobia and isolation.

Iman Al-Saeed, a kindergarten teacher, stated that activities like painting and group play are vital for channeling a child's energy. She also stressed the importance of regular communication with parents to monitor the child's psychological well-being. Addressing psychological aspects at this stage is fundamental, as a confident child is better equipped to learn and create. Al-Saeed added that a teacher's role extends beyond imparting knowledge to also include monitoring the children's psychological conditions.
