KFAS Collaborates with Cambridge University to Launch “AI for Teachers” Program

Kuwait city: Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) announced the launch of the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Teachers" program, in cooperation with Cambridge University Press and Assessment, as a partner in designing the scientific content and providing guidance to participating educators.

According to Kuwait News Agency, this professional learning initiative aims to boost digital literacy in AI among Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) teachers in Kuwait. The program is designed to enable teachers to effectively use AI tools in the classroom, thereby improving the quality of teaching and learning outcomes.

The program employs a hybrid training model, beginning with an e-learning phase delivered through a specialized online platform. This is followed by intensive in-person workshops at Kuwait University, offering a practical learning environment where participants can directly apply the skills acquired in their classrooms.

The focus of the program is on practical applications that help teachers integrate AI tools into lesson planning, assessment, and the design of interactive activities. This integration aims to enhance students' creativity while ensuring the safe and efficient use of AI tools.

KFAS highlights that the content of the program emphasizes active learning methods and project-based activities, adhering to responsible practices that consider ethical considerations and data protection. The initiative will benefit 50 male and female teachers from various educational sectors, including public education, universities, and applied education, with AI specialists providing lectures and coaching.

The Foundation concludes that this initiative is part of its broader efforts to support educators in Kuwait by equipping them with the latest tools and skills in AI, aligning with global advancements in education and technology.
