Sharjah: The Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) was elected as Chair of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) for the 2025-2027 term. This significant election took place during the 29th World Investment Conference (WIC), hosted in Sharjah, UAE, from October 21-23, under the theme "Transforming Our World.. Investing for a Resilient and Sustainable Future".
According to Kuwait News Agency, KDIPA announced its election victory, which underscores its ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration within WAIPA's governance framework. Mohammad Mulla Yaqoub, KDIPA's Assistant Director General for Business Development, emphasized the Authority's dedication to enhancing cooperation and communication among investment promotion agencies globally, as part of its leadership role.
A press release from KDIPA noted that Mulla Yaqoub will represent the Authority in this capacity. He previously served as Vice President of WAIPA's Steering Committee for the 2023-2025 period, bringing valuable experience to his new role.
The World Investment Conference attracted senior government officials, business leaders, and representatives from international organizations. It provided a platform for discussing global challenges, exploring future actions, and highlighting promising investment opportunities in critical sectors such as food industries, life sciences, energy, and information and communication technology systems.
