Kuwait city: Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) announced its readiness to support the business community and enhance communication between Kuwaiti and Swiss companies to promote growth opportunities and mutual interests. The KCCI's Assistant Director-General Imad Al-Zaid made these remarks while hosting a visiting Swiss economic delegation. The delegation was led by Patrick Tran, President of the Swiss-Kuwaiti Business Platform (SKBP), and included Swiss Ambassador to Kuwait Tiziano Balmelli. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Zaid emphasized the significance of the Swiss delegation's visit, which aligns with the recent visit by the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, to Kuwait. This visit commemorates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Switzerland. Al-Zaid highlighted the visit as a reflection of the shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in economic and trade sectors, expanding joint partnerships, and creating new investment and busin ess opportunities. The KCCI's official projected that the volume of Kuwaiti-Swiss trade exchange will reach USD 800 million in 2024. Patrick Tran noted that the ongoing two-day Swiss-Kuwaiti business event aims to strengthen communication between the delegations and explore new avenues of cooperation underpinned by a vision of sustainable partnership. The Swiss delegation includes experts in education, medicine, high-tech industries, welfare, and financing. The Swiss Ambassador expressed appreciation to the KCCI for hosting the Swiss delegation and emphasized the importance of the meeting in strengthening bilateral economic relations. He also reiterated the commitment to providing support and services to the Kuwaiti private sector, thereby enhancing trade cooperation and facilitating mutual investment opportunities.
