Jordan: Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed the need for increased international support for humanitarian efforts in Gaza after a recent ceasefire.
According to Kuwait News Agency, in a call with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, King Abdullah II emphasised the need to adhere to the agreement facilitated by the U.S., Qatar, Egypt, and Turkiye. He highlighted the importance of building lasting peace in the region.
The monarch warned against unilateral actions against Palestinians and attacks on holy sites in Jerusalem, underscoring the potential for increased tensions if such actions were to continue.
Additionally, the king commended UNESCO's decision to uphold the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem, reflecting his ongoing commitment to protecting the city's cultural and religious heritage.
